So tonight my power supply died and instead of spending money to get a new power supply I wanted to know if a mac mini or a 17in macbook pro which would be better and what thoughts you all had on both. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! A tower would be way to expensive for me so either mac mini or macbook pro would be in my budget.

A Macbook Pro is a Pro computer, while the Mac mini is the lowest and most underpowered Mac Apple makes. Its not even close, get the Macbook Pro.

I wondering if you meant Macbook and not Macbook Pro. A Mac mini is less than half the cost of a Macbook Pro (more like a third the cost of the lowest model of Macbook Pro).

A Macbook vs a Mac Mini would be a fairly even choice for gaming. if you can get the Macbook with the better graphic's card I would probably go with that. Barefeats.com has some info on the various Mac's and how well they perform with games. I'm rushing out the door and can't look it up right this minute.

A Macbook Pro will cost a lot more, but will also last you a lot longer as it is better in every possible way. Whatever you get, you should be fine though. All the Mac's are pretty nice right now.

I love my MacBook Pro.
It's expensive (around $3k) but worth every penny.
It's far superior to any Windows you could ever buy.

So i decided to get the :
8-Core Two 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processors
6 Gb of ram with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512MB since i work at a school I got a discount and wouldn't you know it the school store has them in stock so I'll be bringing my new baby home tonight.
